Obituary

Larry Duane Scutchfield, age 75, passed away November 17, 2020 at 11:27pm from a terminal illness at home surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Royalton, Kentucky on May 12, 1945 to the late Burlie and Addie (Fletcher) Scutchfield. He was a decorated Army Veteran who served in Korea. He was honorably  discharged In January of 1972. 

He enjoyed riding his motorcycles, fishing and was an avid riffle and crossbow hunter. He was a member of Local 150 Union where he worked as a heavy machine equipment operator and retired after 30 years. 

Surviving are his children Teresa Joan Scutchfield and Carter Minnafee Scutchfield; sister-in-law, Pat Scutchfield; grandchildren, Matthew (Crystal) Burgh, Sara (Eli) Fugate, Arden Scutchfield, and Mathew High; and great-grandchildren Landon Burgh, Ashton Fugate, Orion Fugate, and Lyra Fugate. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by brothers, Henderson and Sam Scutchfield and sisters, Janice Schadek and Henrietta Scutchfield as well as one son Larry Duane Scutchfield, II. A celebration of life will be held at 5:00 pm on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at Palmer Funeral Home-River Park Chapel, 2528 Mishawaka Ave. South Bend, IN 46615. With burial to be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Palmer Funeral Home in lieu of flowers.
