Lawrence W. Zottneck

Lawrence W. Zottneck, 87 years old, passed away at 10:20 p.m. on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at his home.  Lawrence was born on April 25, 1934 in Caseville, MI to the late William and Mary Ann (Maxwell) Zottneck.  He has lived in Knox with his son and daughter-in-law for the past six years.  Prior to this, he was a resident of South Bend and Portage, IN.  On July 25, 1959 in Kinde, MI, Lawrence and Nora E. Tucker were united in marriage.  Nora preceded him in death on February 6, 2016. 

Lawrence retired from NIPSCO in 1993 after working there for just over 33 years.  He retired as a Gas Measurement Technician.  He proudly served his country with the United States Marine Corps and was a former member of the American Legion.

Lawrence is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, David and Lisa Zottneck of Knox; five grandchildren, Jason (April) Chontos, Stephanie (Ricky) Perrine, Mellissa (Evan) Potts, Heather Zottneck, and Timothy (Shannon) Zottneck; and ten great grandchildren.  Lawrence is also survived by his sister, Ruth Ann Robinson of Potterville, MI; and brothers, Leo Zottneck of Lansing, MI and Ray Zottneck of Tennessee.  He was preceded in death by his two sons, Christopher Zottneck on January 21, 2005 and Tim Zottneck on June 5, 2015.  He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Gerald and Ron Zottneck. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 29, 2021 at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan Street, South Bend.  Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m.
