Linda Sue (Hutson) Bognar

Linda Sue Bognar, 74, left us quietly and peacefully on October 3, 2021 with her three loving children by her side.

Linda was born on June 8, 1947 in Joliet, Illinois to her loving parents, James and Elvira Hutson. She graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1965, ready to lead a life full of joy. She lived a full work life, including being a stay-at-home mom, working at floral shops, and eventually retiring from the Morris Inn at the University of Notre Dame, where she worked the front desk. She enjoyed meeting influential individuals and all the football fans who came from all over the world. She was a loyal Notre Dame football fan; football weekends were her favorite.

Linda loved visiting the beach, watching Westerns, making beautiful wreaths and flower arrangements, and spending as much time as possible with her family. She especially took pride in being a Nana to her eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild, all of whom she cherished above all else in her life. She never ceased to put her grandchildren before herself and would do anything to spend a day with them.

She had a passion for life that could not be extinguished, and she loved her family endlessly. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Elvira and James Hutson; son, James Bognar; brother, James (Jim) Hutson; and her sister, Carol McDaniel. Her beautiful life will be forever cherished by her surviving children and their spouses; daughter, Kimberly Conley (Timothy); son, Michael Bognar (Andrea); and son, Robert Bognar (Kimberly). She is also survived by her loving sisters, Joan Parks and Pamela Smith, as well as her loving grandchildren and great-grandchild, Sean (Audrey), Peter, Abigail, Xander, Corrine, Jacob, Clare, Julia, and AJ.

Friends and family may gather to celebrate Linda’s life on Monday, October 11 from 4:00pm – 8:00pm at Palmer Funeral Home-Bubb Chapel, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka, IN 46545. A service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, October 12 at the funeral home, with visitation one hour prior. Father Christopher Lapp will be officiating the service.
