The well lived and full life of Lloyd "Pike" Evans Jr. came to a peaceful end on Monday September 19, 2022 at Saint Joseph Hospital-Mishawaka.
Pike was born on September 4, 1947, to the late Lloyd Evans Sr. and Henrietta Stinnett in Bourbon IN. Pike served in Vietnam for the United States Army and then returned to live in Bourbon. There he met his future wife Peggy Cramer and they married on October 16, 1971. They were blessed with two children, Lori (Ron) Capron of Tennessee and Jason (Angie) Evans of Rochester.
Pike had many interests and hobbies, playing golf, bowling (achieving a coveted 300 game) oil painting, pottery, and woodworking. One of Pike's joys was to instruct new artists at Heartland Art Gallery and see the look of achievement in their eyes. Pike used his artistic talents working as a commercial sign builder.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Peggy Evans, children Lori (Ron) Capron and Jason (Angie) Evans. Grandchildren Brittany Jones and Derek Capron, seven great grandchildren, sister Becky Gardner, and brothers Patrick Evans, Bob Evans, Orville Evans, Roger Evans, Chuck Green and Becky Brodner.
Pike will also be missed by his large extended family and his many, many friends.
Pike was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters Bonnie, Gloria, and Mary.
Services for Pike will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday September 24, 2022, at the Palmer Funeral Homes Lakeville Chapel, 601 N. Michigan St. Lakeville IN. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a. m. -12 p.m. Burial will be held at Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.
