SOUTH BEND – Lois M. Parker, 98, residing in South Bend, Indiana passed away at 9:20 AM Thursday, May 28, 2015 at the Sanctuary at St. Paul’s Nursing Home, South Bend.

Lois M. (Montgomery) Parker was born on June 8, 1916 in Ashley, Indiana to the late Horace and Myrtle (Shatto) Montgomery and has resided in the South Bend area for most of her life.

On December 2, 1932 in Salem Center, Indiana she was united in marriage to Walter E. “Bill” Parker, who has preceded her in death on February 8, 2007.  Bill and Lois were married for 74 years before his passing.  Lois cherished her role as a homemaker and housewife.  She attended River Park United Methodist Church.

Lois is survived by her son, Buddy (Shirley) Parker of South Bend; two grandsons, Todd (Teri) Parker of South Bend and Scott (Lauren) Parker of Mishawaka; five great-grandchildren, Brannon, Coley, and Chase Parker, and Kennedy Grace Parker and Chelsea (Brian) Balyeat; and great-great grandsons, Braxton and Brady. 

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Myrtle Montgomery; husband, Walter E. “Bill” Parker; sister, Enid Wagner; and brothers, Gerald Montgomery and Rolland Montgomery.

Special thanks to the staff at Sanctuary at St. Paul’s for their loving care to Lois and her family.

Memorial services for Lois M. Parker will be at 12:00 Noon on Monday, June 1, 2015 at Palmer Funeral Home – River Park Chapel, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend, IN 46615, where friends may visit with the family from 10:00 AM until time of services.  Inurnment will take place at Circle Cemetery in Hudson, Indiana.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Center for Hospice, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545
