Lois Riddle Obituary

Lois Gearhart Riddle of Fort Wayne, age 97, passed away at 9:05 p.m. on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at the Kingston Care Center in Fort Wayne.  Lois was born on October 13, 1920 in North Liberty, IN, to the late William and Alma (Miller) Gearhart. 

After graduating from Greene Township High School, she was employed by Indiana & Michigan Electric Company, now Indiana Michigan Power, in South Bend.  After 16 years, she transferred to Fort Wayne.  Lois retired on February 1, 1987 from the accounting department with 47 years of service.

Surviving is her nephew, Gerald L. Gearhart, and wife, Linda of Colorado Springs, CO; great nieces and nephews and great-greats.  Her parents; sister, Anna Lucile (Merle) Steele; brother, William Lee (Dorothy) Gearhart all are deceased.

Lois was a member of the Agape Church of the Brethren, Fort Wayne.  She volunteered for ten years at the Associated Churches of Fort Wayne Food Bank, Beacon Heights Church location. 

Graveside services for Lois will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 23, 2018 at Sumption Prairie Cemetery, at the corner of Kern Road and Oak Road in South Bend, IN.   Friends may meet at 12:15 p.m. on Monday the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan Street, South Bend, IN  46614 to follow in procession to the cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Lois Gearhart Riddle may be donated to the Agape Church of the Brethren, 11610 Lima Road, Fort Wayne, IN  46818 or to the Beacon Heights Church of the Brethren Food Bank, 2810 Beacon Street, Fort Wayne, IN  46805.  Online condolences may be offered at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com
