Loraine Perkins

Loraine (Adams) Perkins, 82 years old, of North Liberty, was reunited with her loving husband at 6:48 p.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2019 on their 56th wedding anniversary. She was surrounded by her family and her beloved dog, Katie, at her home. Loraine was born on January 11, 1937 in North Liberty to the late LeRoy and Emily (Blad) Adams. She remained a lifelong resident of North Liberty. On November 23, 1963 in North Liberty, Loraine and Howard L. Perkins were united in marriage. Howard preceded her in death on January 7, 2018. Her brother, LeRoy “Dick” Adams also preceded her in death.

Loraine is survived by her daughter, Kim (Ron) Price of North Liberty; son, Kraig (Amy) Perkins of Mishawaka; six grandchildren, Andrew (Tiffany) Price, Kelli (Brett) Wagner, Ryan (fiancée, Natalie Helmen) Price, Nichole Perkins, Kody Perkins, and Cody Banks; five great-grandchildren, Brantley Perkins, Olivia Price, Logan Bernard, Lucas Bernard, and Cilas Banks; and her sister, Donna Porter of Walkerton. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews who she thought of as her own children. 

Loraine was a dispatcher for Liberty Township EMS for over 20 years. Her greatest enjoyment was her grandchildren.  She and Howard became regulars at their extra-curricular activities whether it be attending sporting events or the 4-H Fair.  She also enjoyed watching Notre Dame football and women’s basketball. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at Palmer Funeral Home, 202 N. Main Street, North Liberty. Pastor Tim Davis will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Eastlawn Cemetery, North Liberty. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
