Margaret Mary Louise Romwalter

Margaret Mary Louise Romwalter, 89, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2020.  Margaret was born on October 31, 1930 in South Bend, the daughter of the late Louis & Martha (Tschida) Kurz, and was a 1948 graduate of Riley High School.  Along with her parents she was preceded in death by Infant son, her brother Louis Kurz, and ex-husband William Romwalter.

Margaret is survived by her children, daughter, Mary (Ron) Michaelis of Niles, MI, sons, Joseph Romwalter of North Liberty, IN, Mark (Christa) Romwalter of Santa Fe, NM, and Robert Romwalter of Argos, IN.  Also surviving are her grandchildren, Emily Calhoun of Niles, MI, Randal Romwalter and Jacque Romwalter of Santa Fe, NM, and Lindsay Romwalter of Indianapolis, IN, and sister, Mary Ann Brooks of South Bend, IN.

Margaret enjoyed a simplistic life, spending time with her family and friends.  She enjoyed shopping or going to the casino along with vacationing at Disney over the years.  She also enjoyed fishing at her friend’s pond and preparing the fresh caught fish for dinner.  Her true enjoyment came from tending to her garden and keeping up with her flowers at her home, which was known for being the be best looking on the block.

Private services will be handled by Palmer Funeral Home – Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St., South Bend, IN.  Burial will take place at Highland Cemetery.
