Marilyn Annette Allen was born on January 9, 1961, in Parkin, Arkansas, Marilyn passed away on May 17, 2026, in South Bend, Indiana. She lived a life marked by love, generosity, and steadfast faith, and she will be remembered with deep affection by all who knew her.
Marilyn was the beloved daughter of Milton Allen Sr. and Lenora (Robinson) Mason. She is preceded in death by her father, a sister, Linda Pates Avance, nephew Demarcos Allen, and her grandma Lady B. Sr.. Marilyn carried the strength of her family with her throughout her life and remained connected to those she loved with a spirit that was warm, caring, and sincere. Her presence brought comfort to many, her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
She leaves to cherish her memory is her mother Lenora (Robinson) Mason, daughter, Shamika Hodges, son, Demetrius E. Allen. Marilyn was a proud grandmother to Edrick Jr., Edriana, Dametri, great grandmother: Aiyhr, Alvin, Aiyhn Alsanders, Alyanah, and Aiko Elie. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were a source of joy in her life, and she treasured each of them deeply. She is also survived by her brothers, Milton Allen Jr., his wife Brenda, Ricky Mason, James Mason, and Wiley Phiillips, wife Keiaonna, special nieces Linnisha Gilbert and Kieunna McKenzie. Marilyn’s family was central to her life, she found great happiness in the bonds she shared with them.
Marilyn was known for her work at Burger King, where she was appreciated for her dedication and dependable spirit. Those who worked alongside her knew her as someone who could be counted on, and her kindness left a lasting impression on many.
In her personal life, Marilyn found joy in the simple and meaningful things that made her happiest. She loved music and drawing, and these interests reflected her creative and expressive nature. She also enjoyed spending time with family and her best friend, Valerie Bush. Whether gathered with loved ones or sharing quiet moments of laughter and conversation, Marilyn valued companionship and the comfort of being surrounded by those she held dear.
Though her earthly journey has come to a close, Marilyn Annette Allen’s spirit remains alive in the lives she touched and the memories she created. Family and friends will forever cherish the time they shared with her, her name will be spoken with love for years to come.
Funeral services for Marilyn will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 5, 2026 at Palmer Funeral Homes-West Chapel, 2702 Lincolnway West, South Bend, IN. Friends may visit with the family prior to services. beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the start of services.
