Marilyn O. Nolen, 91, of New Carlisle, IN passed away at 9:20 p.m. Monday, October 12, 2020 at Miller’s Merry Manor, New Carlisle. She was born on April 26, 1929 in Logansport, IN to the late Kermit and Mae (White) Moore. On June 24, 1950 in Osceola, IN, she was united in marriage to James Nolen who preceded her in death on December 5, 1990.
Marilyn is survived by her two daughters, Cherie (Delane) Richhart of Lakeville, IN and Linda (Bob) King of Niles, MI; son, Tom (Karen) Nolen of Norman, OK; grandchildren, Shonda (Erik) Henry, T.J. (Tracey) Nolen, Eric Nolen, Rebekah Richhart, Micah (Sarah) Richhart, Joshua (Mandy) Richhart, Jason (Kristin) Richhart, Katie (Bryan) Zehr, Jenni Richhart, Ben (Shiann) Richhart, Alissa (Travis Daugherty) Richhart, Scott Powell and Bryan Powell along with eighteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Jeanne Gruse and Virginia “Ginny” Faust and brother, William Moore.
Marilyn took great pride in her family, each and every one of them meant the world to her. Over the years she worked at several different bakeries. Marilyn will be fondly remembered for her green bean casserole dish, which she brought to all the family gatherings. She was a member of Widow to Widow Association, a former member of Grace Methodist Church and was a dog lover.
The family would like to thank her special niece, Luann Warner for all the loving care she provided to Marilyn.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St. South Bend, IN. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend, IN. Friends may visit with the family from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Due to Covid-19 the family is asking those attending to wear a mask and adhere to social distancing guidelines.
