En memoria de Martha Josefina Ortiz Guerrero
El 22 de agosto de 1953, en la ciudad de Ibarra, Ecuador, nació una mujer destinada a sanar y a sembrar bondad: Martha Josefina Ortiz Guerrero, hija de Luis Alfredo Ortiz Pinto y Zoila Rosa Guerrero Ortiz.
Desde joven, Martha abrazó la vocación de la medicina, graduándose como cirujano general en 1971 y sirviendo con entrega al ejército ecuatoriano. Su vida fue un canto al servicio, a la naturaleza y al amor por las personas.
Hermana querida de Aida Fabiola, Miriam Magdalena y María Elena, madre amorosa de Luis Alfonso y Juan Carlos, y abuela orgullosa de Camila, Sherlyn y Allison, Martha supo tejer con ternura los lazos que sostienen a una familia.
En 1997 emprendió un nuevo camino hacia los Estados Unidos, encontrando en South Bend, Indiana un hogar lleno de amistades y proyectos. Allí se dedicó al real estate, administrando con visión y empeño más de 50 propiedades, siempre con la misma pasión con la que cuidaba a quienes la rodeaban.
Martha fue, sobre todo, amante de la naturaleza y del prójimo. Su sonrisa era refugio, su consejo medicina, su presencia un recordatorio de que la vida se honra en los gestos sencillos de ayuda y en la belleza que nos rodea.

In Loving Memory of Martha Josefina Ortiz Guerrero
On August 22, 1953, in the city of Ibarra, Ecuador, a woman destined to heal and to sow kindness was born: Martha Josefina Ortiz Guerrero, daughter of Luis Alfredo Ortiz Pinto and Zoila Rosa Guerrero Ortiz.
From a young age, Martha embraced the calling of medicine, graduating as a general surgeon in 1971 and serving with devotion in the Ecuadorian Army Command. Her life was a song of service, of reverence for nature, and of love for people.
Beloved sister of Aida Fabiola, Miriam Magdalena, and María Elena, devoted mother of Luis Alfonso and Juan Carlos, and proud grandmother of Camila, Sherlyn, and Allison, Martha wove with tenderness the bonds that sustain a family.
In 1997 she embarked on a new journey to the United States, finding in South Bend, Indiana a home filled with friendships and projects. There she dedicated herself to real estate, managing with vision and determination more than 50 properties, always with the same passion with which she cared for those around her.
Above all, Martha was an admirer of nature and a helper of others. Her smile was a refuge, her counsel a medicine, her presence a reminder that life is honored in simple acts of kindness and in the beauty that surrounds us.
