Mary Lou Henry, 84 years old, passed away at 9:08 p.m. on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at Hospice House, Mishawaka. Mrs. Henry was born on May 13, 1937, in South Bend to the late Raymond and Violet (Haas) Rhoade of Bremen. She happily left farm life when she married James King (1958-1986) and remained a lifelong area resident of Mishawaka. On July 30, 1988, she married the love of her life, Allan Arthur Henry who preceded in death on May 14, 2017.
Mrs. Henry worked in secretarial for Bendix Corporation and retired from Honeywell Corporation. She has been a faithful member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, where she enjoyed helping with the rummage sales and fish fries. Family was her life and she was happiest hosting dinners or holidays or having her grandchildren spend the day with her. Her many friends loved her for her sense of humor and her kindness.
Mrs. Henry is survived by her two daughters, Tracy (Robert Tetzloff) King of Osceola and Michelle (Russ) Hauck of Mishawaka; three step-daughters, Lisa (Pastor Bill) Wassner of Whitestown, IN, Lori (Dean) Wiseman of South Bend, and Lynne Zesinger of South Bend; step-son, Robert (Karen) Henry of South Bend; eleven grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Elaine Hinton; and two brothers, Gerald and James Rhoade.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at the St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, 915 N. Ironwood Drive, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family prior to the service, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the church. A private burial will be held at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
