(Mary) Diane Kirkpatrick, also known as “Grandma Chloe” by her 9 beloved grandchildren, passed away at home on April 24, 2026. Diane leaves behind her four children Scott Kirkpatrick and his wife Deborah, Matthew Kirkpatrick and his wife Heidi, Kelly Broadstreet and her husband Michael, and Benjamin Kirkpatrick. She also leaves behind her 9 grandchildren: Kristi Warner (Scott), Nichole Charles (Cory), Adam Broadstreet (Sierra), Anna Oberlie (Andrew), Abby Kirkpatrick (Kamden), Kyle Kirkpatrick (Tyra), Gabe Kirkpatrick, Hunter Kirkpatrick, and Breanna Kirkpatrick. She was also blessed with 6 great grandchildren, Larkin, Lainey, Crew, Matthew, Patrick, and Josephine. Her 7th great granddaughter, Lila, is on the way.
Diane was preceded in death by her great granddaughter, Josephine Ann Oberlie, by her parents, David and Dorothy Hosler, and her brother and sister-in-law, Douglas and Penny Irish-Hosler. Diane received her nursing degree from Indiana University and retired from Saint Joseph Medical Center in 2010. She was also a licensed real estate broker and a member of the Greater South Bend-Mishawaka Association of Realtors from 1978-2010.
Diane spent a lot of time at Southeast Little League Park, Riley High School and anywhere else she could to watch the many sport events and activities that her grandchildren participated in. Whether it was swimming, baseball, softball, golf, tennis, or soccer you would always see “Grandma Chloe” in the stands watching proudly.
Out of respect for Diane’s wishes there will be a private family graveside service at Southlawn Cemetery.

Without consent or consultation, each of us slips into the mainstream of history’s timeline, travels through some full and some spartan hours- then without appointment departs. But, in those too brief, magical moments in between…. we work, we dream, we love, we forge our identity, and we explore the world to explain and extend our own. And we will be remembered by the choices we have made, the kindness we have offered with delicacy and grace in a friend’s fragile hours, the stoic decision to honor a promise, the unselfish sharing of knowledge and talent, and the love we leave behind. -Author Unknown
