Mary J (Imbro) Ransbottom

Mary J. Ransbottom, 78 years old, residing in South Bend, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on Sunday, April 11, 2021 after a long battle with cancer.  Mary was born on October 18, 1942 in North Liberty, IN to the late Joe and Reva (Gilpin) Imbro.  She graduated from Greene Township High School in 1960.  On October 28, 1972 in Plymouth, IN she was united in marriage to Donald who survives.

Mary is survived by her children Brian (Carolyn) Donathen, Jeff Donathen, Jill (Chuck) Annis, Melissa Nate and Tina Murphy.  She also leaves behind twelve grandchildren, and four great grandchildren, along with her siblings, Butch (Jackie) Imbro, Judy (Jack) Edison, Terry Imbro and Gloria Pitman.  Also surviving is Khristine Thompson, who Mary cared for like a daughter and was grandma to her daughter, Aaliyah.  Both who were a big part of her life.  Mary was preceded in death by her sister Patty Jo and her granddaughter Rochelle who passed away at birth.

Mary loved doing her crafts and going to the casino.  She enjoyed going to Honkers to have coffee and reading a book.  She listened to Elvis Presley music and liked to watch movies and especially loved her dog Rockey.  Mary spent her life caring for her family and friends and loved them all dearly.  We love you more Mom and Grandma.

There will be no services at this time, the family is planning a celebration of life at a later date this summer.  Palmer Funeral Home – North Liberty Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.  Memorial contributions in Mary’s honor can be made to Center for Hospice, 501 Comfort Pl, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
