Mary Susan (Sue) Vyverberg Slaby, 74, of Mishawaka, IN, passed away Dec. 17, 2020. She was born in Lafayette, IN on April 17, 1946, to the late Dr. Robert and Mary (Earl) Vyverberg. In 1959 Sue’s family moved to South Bend where she attended Centre Township School. While there, she met her lifetime friends, Fran Bowers Ritter, Karen Eric Dentino and Dolores Hoof. She graduated from South Bend’s Riley High School in 1964.

For over 40 years, Sue owned and operated a daycare on the southside of South Bend, caring for and touching the hearts of many children.

Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Al Slaby and grandson, Zak Forkner. She is survived by her children, Amy Flaugher and Jenny Forkner, her four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren along with three siblings, Judith Vyverberg Riley, Bruce Vyverberg, and Doug Vyverberg.

Palmer Funeral Home - Guisinger Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. There will be no immediate services held, the family will hold a Celebration of Life later date.
