Mary Stevens Obituary

Mary Elizabeth Stevens, 85, residing in South Bend, Indiana passed away on Monday, June 21, 2021, at her home. 

She was born on November 13, 1935, in Abington, Massachusetts to William Edson and Dorothy Edson, who precede her in death. 

On February 10, 1956, in Brockton, Massachusetts, Mary was united in marriage to George Stevens, who preceded her in death on April 20, 1986.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Joanne Beeman of South Bend, Indiana, Theresa Stevens of South Bend, Indiana, Wendy Sexton of Breckenridge County, Kentucky, and Kathleen Jackson of Louisville, Kentucky; her son, David Stevens of Jeffersonville, Indiana; her grandchildren, Sean, Jessica, Chance, Elizabeth, Gidget, Andrew, Connie Lou, Amanda, Clint, Jr., Ashlee, David, Jr., and Christopher; her sisters, Catherine Sankus and Nancy Cunniff, both of Massachusetts.  Mary was proud to say she had 17 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.  Mary was a second mom to Kay Angelini and Tiffany Price.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Mary is preceded in death by her sons, George, Jr., Mark, William and James and also her brother William Edson of California.

Mary was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary where she loved to make her Bingo contributions. 

Mary also loved to teach her grandchildren how to play poker as soon as their little hands could hold cards.
