Maynard F. Moon

Maynard F. Moon, 96 years old, went to be with his Lord at 9:56 a.m. on Friday, June 28, 2019 at the Mary B Home in Lakeville, IN.  Mr. Moon was born on July 25, 1922 in Lakeville to the late John and Etta (Fisher) Moon.  He has been a lifelong resident of Lakeville.  On November 30, 1945 in Lakeville, Maynard and Mary L. Fox were united in marriage.  Mary preceded her husband in death on November 16, 2011.  Three sisters and five brothers also preceded him in death.

Mr. Moon is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Roy Herbster of Lakeville; two grandsons, David (Shawn) Herbster and Timothy (Christy) Herbster; and nine great grandchildren. 

Mr. Moon has been a lifelong and faithful member of Faith Christian Chapel in Lakeville.  He retired in 1991 after 25 years of employment with Rieth Riley Construction Company as a maintenance supervisor.  Mr. Moon proudly served his country with the United States Air Force. 

A service celebrating his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at Faith Christian Chapel, 20876 Pierce Road, Lakeville.  His grandson, Pastor David Herbster, will officiate.  Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to services on Saturday at the church.  A private burial has taken place at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend.   Palmer Funeral Home in Lakeville is assisting the family.
