Melinda Kay Fisher

Melinda Kay Fisher, age 50, passed away unexpectedly on July 8th, following complications from surgery at Corewell Health hospital in St. Joseph.

Melinda was born on December 19,1975, in South Bend, Indiana, to Allen and Donna Fisher.

Above all else, Melinda cherished her two children, her family, and her dogs. When she wasn’t at work, she spent as much time as possible with those that she loved most. She loved her family and friends fiercely and wholeheartedly. To be loved by Melinda meant always knowing you had someone in your corner-someone who would stand by you through anything. She will be missed deeply. 

She is survived by her son, Austin Williams; her daughter, Alea Fisher; her brothers, Michael (Jessica) Fisher and Lanny Fisher; and her nephews, Maxton Welsh and Bryce Fisher. She is preceded in death by her parents, Donna Fisher and Allen Fisher.

A celebration of Life honoring Melinda and her mother, Donna Fisher, will be held on Sunday, July 12, 2026, from 12pm-4pm at the Buchanan American Legion.
