Michael S. Balint, 64, of Mishawaka, passed away on Tuesday June 16, 2026, at Hellenic Senior Living in Mishawka.
Michael was born on October 8, 1961, in South Bend to the late Richard and Anne (Steinhoffer) Balint.
Michael graduated from Riley High School class of 1981 and went on to work in many positions including factories and for Curtis products and lawn care.
On May 10, 1997, he married the love of his life, Maria Rodriguez, and the two have shared 29 years together.
Michael is survived by his wife, Maria, his stepdaughter, Terry (Nicole) Rodriguez, and his sisters in law; Rose Gonzalez, Susie Burgos, Janie (Sammy) Urango, Marlene (Gregorio) Hernandez, and Sandy (Alex) Carrillo along with lots of aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved him very deeply.
Michael was passionate about collecting racing cars and John Deere toys. He was very close to his father, Richard Balint and loved to be outside repairing equipment and fixing odds and ends with his dad. He also loved camping with his family at Lily Lake in Michigan, making pudgy pies and s’mores by the campfire, and riding his motorcycle during the Jerry Lewis marathon.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Rich, Steve, and John.
Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel is honored to be caring for the family.
The Balint family wants to thank those who put a smile on Michael’s face during this difficult time of illness. He loved everybody and was a very kind man who had a heart of gold. Special thanks to Hellenic Senior Living for adding him to your family and to hospice for their excellent care of Michael.
