Michael P. Spangler

Michael P. Spangler, age 67, residing in Mishawaka, Indiana passed away at 6:08 p.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at his residence.  Michael was a Team Leader at Oaklawn, retiring in 2019. He was born on October 20, 1954, in Grand Rapids, Michigan to the late John Spangler and Noreen (Connell) Spangler.

Michael is survived by his two sisters, Maureen Spangler and Kathleen Swanson, both of South Bend, sister-in-law, Catherine Spangler; one brother, Thomas (Claudia) Spangler of Chandler, Arizona; and three special nieces, Jennifer (Megan Craft) Swanson, Maggie (Ryan) Varga and their children Ray and Reese Varga, and Sarah (Fiancè Cory Chopp) Swanson and their children Brooklyn and Madie Chopp. One brother, John P. Spangler; and brother-in-law, Bill Swanson, preceded Michael in death. 

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 8, 2022, at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend.
