Norma Ladyga Obituary

Norma J. Ladyga, 79, of Mishawaka, IN, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 17, 2022 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center Hospital Emergency Room.

Norma was born on August 24, 1942 in Mishawaka to Warren and Pearl (Werner) Ackenhusen, who both have preceded her in death.

Norma is survived by her sister, Sharon Whitfield of Mishawaka, IN; her children, Renee (Jeff) Lawler of Granger, IN, Robyn Weglowski and fiancé (Philip Lattrez) of  Mishawaka, IN, and Richard (Cassandra) Weglowski of Edwardsburg, MI; stepdaughters, Korie Whitfield of Sturgis, MI and Trina Ladyga of Countryside, IL; and her grandchildren, Jeffrey, Jennifer, Jonathan, Sarah, Tyler, Zakaria, Vincent, David, and Steven; and great-grandchildren, Addison, Aiden, Adley, Colsen, and Cambri. Also surviving is her cat, Remy, whom she adored.

Norma graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1960 and started working at Ball Band 1961 as a Key Punch Operator. Norma married Thomas V. Weglowski in 1965 and had three children together. Later in life Norma married Albert W. Ladyga in 1981 for 30 years.  For many years, Norma had a successful cleaning business where she cleaned and managed others in the cleaning of several local apartment complexes. Now for the past 30 years, Norma worked independently cleaning homes. She considers all her clients to be friends and very dear to her.

Norma loved her church. She was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church in Mishawaka. She was always there to lend a helping hand wherever it was needed. She was devoted to her church and to God.

Norma was a wonderful mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was always there to listen, give support, and encouragement—always letting you know she cared. Her family meant the world to her and her to them. She will be greatly missed.
