Otto "Bill" Bihlmire Obituary

Otto “Bill” L. Bihlmire, age 74, residing in South Bend, Indiana passed away at 7:10 pm on Friday, March 20, 2020 at Memorial Hospital, South Bend.  Bill retired in 2019 after a thirty-four year career in sales with The Ridge Company. 

Bill was born on January 10, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Otto L. and Ruth Bihlmire.  He lived most of his life in Dowagiac, Michigan moving to South Bend in 1966. On   February 4, 1966 in South Bend, Indiana he was united in marriage to Patricia “Pat” Ferm Bihlmire, who survives.

Along with his loving wife, Pat, Bill is survived by twin sons, Scott (Sherry) Bihlmire of Lafayette and Bruce (Mandy) Bihlmire of South Bend; six grandchildren, Ashley (Jon) Freeman, Taylor Bihlmire, Noah Bihlmire, Shae Bihlmire, Pierce Bihlmire and Ben Unger; two great grandchildren, Annalise and Ryder; his mom, Taylor Bihlmire; and three sisters, Lynn (David) Timmons of Tennessee, Pat Greene of Oklahoma and Gloria Gregg of Coloma, Michigan. 

Bill graduated from Dowagiac High School.  He was all about his family. He enjoyed people and his two Golden Retrievers, “Gracie” and “Breezy”.  He loved camping in Tennessee; listening to Elvis; and spending time at Sister Lakes in Michigan with family.

Palmer Funeral Home – River Park and Southlawn Cremation Services are assisting the family.  Graveside services will take place at a later date at Dewey Lake, Dowagiac, MI.
