Patricia Ann Childress

Patricia Ann Childress, 64, of South Bend passed away at 2:36 p.m. Saturday, May 8th in St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center following an illness. Pat was born March 16, 1957 in South Bend to Jeanette M. (Krueger) and the late Clifford H. Childress. She is survived by her mother, Jeanette M. Childress Horan of South Bend; her sister, Linda J. Pluta (Daniel) of Durham, NC; nephew, Nicholas D. Pluta (Amanda) of Fairfax, VA; niece, Stephanie Pluta (Troy) of Raleigh, NC; and cousin Rev. Thomas Hammond of Mexico.
  

Patricia attended the Brandywine School system and graduated from Brandywine High in 1975. Her love of music led her to Arizona State University where she graduated with BA in Music. Not satisfied with a BA, she achieved a Master's at Western Michigan, then a Doctorate of Music & Conducting at Michigan State. Her teaching experiences took her from coast to coast at numerous universities. She loved traveling, meeting new people, and experiencing new surroundings.
  

A memorial celebration of Pat's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 17th in the Palmer Funeral Home - Welsheimer North Chapel, 17033 Cleveland Rd. with Rev. Kathy Miller Kubinski of Clay Church officiating. The family will greet friends in the funeral home immediately following the service.
