Patricia E. (Nuner) Costa

Patricia E. Costa, lovingly known as Pat, 71 years old, passed away at 10:16 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 in South Bend.  Pat was born on October 8, 1952 in South Bend to the late Donald and Betty (Ullery) Nuner, Sr.  She has lived in South Bend most of her life.  On September 10, 1988 in South Bend, Pat and José M. Costa were united in marriage.  

Along with José, her husband of 35 years, Pat is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Larissa and Andrew Hertzberg of South Bend; sister, Nancy Nuner of Edgewater, FL; and two brothers, Donald (Kathy) Nuner and John Nuner, both of South Bend.  

Pat was all about family but never met a stranger.  She loved to talk and possessed a unique sense of humor that made people laugh.  She also loved flowers, the color aqua, Dainty Maid cakes and vintage prints.  Her passion was researching, buying and selling antiques and collectibles.  Perhaps most of all, throughout her entire life, Pat treasured her family cottage and beach time at Lakes Macatawa and Michigan, shared with multiple generations.

A service celebrating the life of Patricia E. Costa will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan Street, South Bend.  Friends may visit with the family beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
