Paul Michael "Mike" Crumley

Paul Michael “Mike” Crumley, 82, of Buchanan, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at Hanson Hospice in Stevensville, Michigan.

Born on May 30, 1944, in Buchanan, Mike was the son of Dwight and Alene (Huff) Crumley. He spent his early life in the Buchanan area.

Mike graduated from Buchanan High School in 1962. He was awarded a tuition scholarship from the American Society of Tool & Manufacturing Engineers and attended the Whirlpool Technical Institute in Benton Harbor, graduating in 1964. Mike was hired by Clark Equipment in 1965 where he was employed as grinder operator until 1982 when Clark Equipment shut down manufacturing operations in Buchanan.

He moved to Florida in 1983 and was employed by Demmer Manufacturing until he was hired by General Dynamics.  In 1997 Defense Research Inc (DRI) hired Mike and moved him to Anniston, Alabama where he ran a computerized lathe making sidewinder missile parts. He retired from Defense Research in 2009 and moved back to Buchanan, Michigan.
Mike will be remembered for his many friendships he built throughout his life.

His memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him. He was a proud member of the Buchanan Moose Lodge and American Legion Post #51. Outside of work, Mike was an avid golfer who found great joy on the course. He was especially proud of the hole-in-one trophy he earned in 1994, one of many golf awards he received over the years.
Mike was preceded in death by his beloved chick magnet dog Overton “Odie boy”, his wife, Judy Crumley; his parents, Dwight and Alene (Huff) Crumley; his sister, Deaetta Mae Crumley; and his brother, David Monroe Crumley.

He is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Ann Marguerite Crumley of Oak Park, Minnesota; his son, Michael “Mick” Robert (Amy) Crumley of Three Oaks, Michigan; five cherished grandchildren, Mason, Marguerite, Gabrielle, Jake, and Hannah; six great-grandchildren, Leah, Fisher, Neal “Deuce “, Londyn, and Bruce, with one due in October; his sisters, Linda (Elmer) Doyle of Galien, Avis Jean (Angelo) Marquez of Niles, and Deanne Lee Daniels of Buchanan with whom he lived; his brother, Patric (Arlene) Crumley of Ada Michigan; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, July 13, 2026, at Palmer Funeral Home – Hoven Chapel, 414 E. Front St., Buchanan. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Buchanan on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.
