Peter J. Kidder

Peter J. Kidder, 67, of South Bend, IN passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at his home.  He was born May 5, 1953 to Charles and Ruth Ann (Reed) Kidder.  On October 7, 1989 in Mishawaka, IN, Pete married the love of his life, Linda M. (Gyorkos) Kidder, who survives.

Also surviving are his daughter, Kim (Brian) Koloszar of Elkhart, IN; son, David (Stacy) Benko of South Bend, IN; six grandchildren, Alexis (Preston) Newbraugh, Greg Richard, Tyler Benko, Zachary Benko, Abby Koloszar, and Brendan Benko; a great-grandchild on the way; two brothers, Reed (Carolyn) Kidder of Terre Haute, IN and Rick (Debbie) Kidder of Nevada, TX; and brother-in-law, Ron Gyorkos of South Bend, IN.  Pete is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ruth Ann Kidder.

Pete graduated from Clay High School before getting his bachelor’s degree in safety management from Indiana State University.  He worked at Napa Auto Parts for 35 years before becoming the parts manager at Michiana Truck Center in 2013.  Pete took great pride in his home and enjoyed working in the yard and doing various home projects.  He loved spending time with his family and his beloved dog, Bella.  Pete was an avid Camaro fan and in his free time, he enjoyed working on cars.

A memorial visitation for Pete will be held on Friday, October 23, 2020 from 4-7 PM at Palmer Funeral Home-Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Rd., South Bend, IN 46635.
