Peter Henry Sr., affectionately known as “Quartermaine,” was a beacon of love, laughter, and quiet courage whose warmth touched everyone he met. Born on September 15, 1960, in Chicago, Illinois, he peacefully completed his earthly journey on December 26, 2025, in South Bend, Indiana.
A proud graduate of LaSalle High School, Quartermaine devoted his career to maintenance in the healthcare industry, where his strong work ethic and genuine care for others were deeply appreciated. Known for his quick wit and infectious sense of humor, he had a rare gift for lifting spirits and easing burdens wherever he went.
Quartermaine was a devoted father to his son, Peter Henry Jr., and a loving grandfather to two cherished grandchildren who brought him immense joy. He is also lovingly remembered by his fiance Yvonne Bell, his four sisters, Arzenia Stanley (Michael), Lavada Chatman (Raymond), Luvenia Corley, and Lanatia Harris (Tyrone), as well as his stepson, Willis Jones Jr. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Corley and Pearlie Day; his brother, Dennis Henry; his maternal grandparents, Monroe and Alcola Henry; and his stepfather, James Day.
Quartermaine’s legacy of kindness, humor, and unwavering love will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
