Phyllis Campbell Obituary

Phyllis Ann Campbell, a lifelong resident of South Bend, Indiana, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2024, at the age of 95. Born on January 11, 1929, to the late Edmund and Emma (Smith) Kubiak.

Phyllis's legacy is carried on by her loving children, John E. (Jackie) Campbell of Florida, Katherine S. Campbell of Mishawaka, IN, Robert W. Campbell of South Bend, IN and Sarah A. Campbell of South Bend, IN who will forever cherish the memories and lessons their mother imparted. Her family and friends will miss her deeply, but take comfort in knowing that her kindness, warmth, and vivacious spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known her.

Phyllis's early years in South Bend were filled with the warmth of a close-knit family. She carried the love and values instilled in her by her parents throughout her life. Phyllis was the cherished sister of Lois Meyers of Edwardsburg, MI. She was preceded in death by her brother, Edward Kubiak.

A devout member of Christ the King Catholic Church, Phyllis's faith was a cornerstone of her life. Her commitment to her church community was evident in her active participation and unwavering support. Phyllis's spirit and enthusiasm extended to her love of sports, notably her dedication to Notre Dame Football and the Chicago Cubs. Her passion for these teams was infectious, and she enjoyed many games surrounded by friends and family.

Bird watching was another of Phyllis's treasured pastimes. She found great solace and delight in the simple beauty of nature and the diverse array of birds that visited her garden. This hobby allowed her to appreciate the small wonders of the world and share that appreciation with others.
