Phyllis Joan Gowin

Phyllis Joan (Brewer) Gowin, age 88, went home to her Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, February 3, 2026.

Phyllis was born on April 16, 1937, in Sweetser, Indiana, to the late Earl and Frances (Waymire) Brewer. She was a devoted homemaker and spent her life caring for her family and home.

Phyllis is survived by her devoted son, Robert J. Gowin and her loving daughters, Janiece Weisser and Pat (Mike Polly) Gowin. Phyllis was a proud grandmother of five: Jacinta (Darrick) Snyder, Christine (Chip) Joers, Elizabeth (Travis) Robinson, Andrew (Alyx Posorske) Martin, and Jennifer Martin. She was blessed with five great-grandchildren: Brecken Snyder, Alexa Joers, Emilia Joers, Lincoln Robinson, and Penelope Robinson. She is also survived by her brother, Ronnie “Chuck” Brewer, and her two dear friends, Bob and Wendy Conners. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her fiancé, Jack Andrews; brother, David Brewer; son-in-law, Paul Weisser; and two sisters-in-law, Ann and Kay Brewer.

Phyllis enjoyed yard work, baking, shopping, and especially spending time with her family.
