Ralph L. Andrews, 75 years old, passed away at 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Memorial Hospital, South Bend. Mr. Andrews was born on March 7, 1946 in Garrett, IN to the late Ralph L. and Florence Opal (Spencer) Andrews, Sr. He has lived most of his life in South Bend. On October 8, 1971 in South Bend at St. Matthew’s Cathedral, Ralph and Cyndy A. Wetzel were united in marriage.
Along with Cyndy, his loving wife of 49 years, Ralph is survived by two brothers, Robert (Johnell) Andrews of Mishawaka and Thomas Andrews; niece, Lydia Spicher; and two nephews, Larry (Kerry) Andrews and Michael (Annette) Andrews. He is also survived by his step-mother, Mary Andrews; step-sisters, Sandy Daniel and Teresa (Dan) DeVries; and sister-in-law, Mary Gaye Wetzel. Along with his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Andrews. Ralph worked independently in sales as a manufacturer representative. He was a graduate of Indiana University, South Bend. Ralph proudly served his country during the Vietnam War with the United States Army.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at St. Matthew’s Cathedral, 1701 Miami Street, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family beginning at 12:30 p.m. at church. A private inurnment will be held at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Palmer Funeral Home - Guisinger Chapel, South Bend is assisting the family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Ralph L. Andrews may be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project, 230 W. Monroe Street, Unit 200, Chicago, IL 60606. The family would like to acknowledge their appreciation to the staff at the cancer unit on the 10th floor at Memorial Hospital and at Hematology & Oncology Infusion Center at Memorial.
