MISHAWAKA – Reginald P. Egert, 90, passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2018. Reginald took a turn for the best as he moved to his heavenly home with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Reginald was born on November 17, 1927 in Mishawaka, Indiana to the late Stanley and Dorothy (Rhoads) Egert and has been a lifelong resident of this area, graduating from Mishawaka High School. Reginald proudly served our country in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged in 1947, receiving the Victory Medal and the American Area Campaign Medal. He worked as a Die Setter for the Bendix Corporation for 38 years, retiring in 1983. Reginald attended the Apostolic Temple, South Bend. The joy and love of his heart was spending time with his family and friends.
On June 6, 1948 at the former Midway Gospel Tabernacle, South Bend, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Dolores Young, who survives. He and Dolores were married for 70 wonderful years. He is also survived by their daughters, Connie Riggs and Sharon Schutz; son-in-law, Steve Schutz; beloved granddaughter, Emily (Ian) Andrews; and his brother, Michael Egert. Along with his parents, Stanley and Dorothy Egert, his brother, Stan Egert has also preceded him in death.
You are invited to graveside services for Reginald P. Egert at 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at Fairview Cemetery, 1415 N. Main Street, Mishawaka, IN 46545 (Corner of Jefferson Blvd. and Main Street). Pastor Chris Rowe will be officiating. Representatives from Indiana Oath Keepers and the United States Navy will be performing Military Honors. Memorial contributions may be given to Heartland Hospice, 230 Catalpa Drive, Suite D, Mishawaka, IN 46545. Palmer Funeral Home River Park Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
