Richard E. Bauer, Jr.

Richard E. Bauer, Jr., age 85, of South Bend, passed away Friday afternoon, November 19, at the Ernestine M. Raclin House, Center for Hospice Care, Mishawaka.  Richard worked in the RV Industry, in Elkhart as a Credit Manager for the LaSalle Deitch Co and later the Riblet Products Corporation.  He was born to the late Richard E. and Ann L. (Carpenter) Bauer, Sr. and has lived in the River Park, South Bend area all of his life

On September 28, 1957 in South Bend, Richard married Karen (Connett) Bauer who survives.  Also surviving is a daughter, Amy Shanholt of Jimtown, three sons, Richard E. Bauer III, Steven Bauer and Timothy (Julie) Bauer all of South Bend, seven grandchildren, Katie (Darren) Huffman, Cory (Michelle) Bauer, Paige (Frankie) Laskowski, Ben Bauer, Taylor Montague, Zachary Hover, and Jordyn (Bryce Parrish) Shanholt, and 12 great grandchildren. 

One brother, Thomson Barry Bauer, preceded in death. 

Memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday November 23, at the Palmer Funeral Home – River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave, South Bend, IN  46615.  Friends may gather with the family one hour prior to services. 

Richard graduated from John Adams High School.  He loved to play golf.  He enjoyed being with family and working around the home.  Contributions in memory of Richard E.
