Richard E. James Jr, 75, of Bremen passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at his home surrounded by family.
Richard James Jr, was born on October 22, 1950, in Mishawaka to the late Richard Sr. and Violet (Freehauff) James. After graduating Penn High School, he worked for Bendix and Penn High School where he retired and was a lifelong farmer.
Richard was blessed with 4 children; Sarah (Joe) Shelley, Molly (Dan) Spromberg, Benjamin (Pamela) James, and Samuel (Amy) James, as well as 7 grandchildren; Rebecca (Matthew) Frabotta, Andrew Shelley, Jenna Shelley, Peyton James, Sophia James, Evan James, and Emma James. Also surviving are his brothers, Roy James, Clyde (Tammy) James, and Glen (Kathy) James. He leaves behind a large and loving extended family, including many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents. In keeping with his wishes, cremation will take place.
Memorial visitation for Richard will be held from 4pm-6pm on Wednesday December 31, 2025 at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Center for Hospice Care to thank them for their excellent and personal care of Richard and his family.
