Richard A. Jordan, of South Bend, passed peacefully at his home on Monday, January 10, 2022 with his wife by his side at the age of 79.
He was born on September 25, 1942 in Mishawaka to the late Paul D. and Edith M. (Erhardt) Jordan and remained a lifelong resident of the area. He graduated in 1960 from Madison Township High School. On October 19, 1963 he was united in marriage to his best friend, Karen Kay Lehman, who survives.
Dick worked for the South Bend Supplies in Sales and retired in 2007 after 36 years of service. He was also a member of the Eagles Lodge #435 and also a member of the Madison Township High School Alumni Association. Dick loved and was most proud of his time in the Barbershop Harmony Society for the last 42 years, he also sang with the Valleyaires Barbershop Chorus and most recently was a member of the New Image Barbershop Quartet, which performed a various local venues like Amish Acres.
Dick is survived by his wife, Karen, and their sons, David E. Jordan and Douglas A. (Rhonda) Jordan both of Elkhart and 5 grandchildren, Heather, Jennifer, Joshua (Nikki), Samantha, and Noah, along with 8 great grandchildren, Brianna, Mya, Kyliee, Alexia, Chayse, Angel, Elaina, Andrew. Also surviving is his sister, Janet (Rick) Moore of Petosky, MI., brothers, Thomas (Rita) Jordan of South Bend, and James (Luci) Jordan of Mishawaka. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Jason, sister JoAnn Kline, and brother, Robert Jordan.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 21, 2022 at St. John United Church of Christ, 63900 IN-331, South Bend, IN 46614. Friends may visit with the family beginning at 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the church. Burial will follow at St. John Woodland Cemetery.
