Richard D. Sellers, Sr.

Richard D Sellers Sr., 74, of Mishawaka, IN. Richard passed away at 5:43 p.m. Sunday November 30, 2025, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka. Richard was born on June 20, 1951, in Mishawaka to Lloyd D. and Mavis E. (Smith) Sellers. On March 1, 1971 Richard married Diane F. Sexton in Mishawaka. They were each others soulmate. Diane survives along with their five children; Richard Sellers Jr., Christopher (Dana Richards) Sellers, RaShawnna (Erik) DeBroka, Steven (Brittany) Sellers, and Mitzi (Simon) Stahl-Sellers; six grandchildren Brooke, Tristyn, Erika, Wyatt, Rees and Wayde. 10 great grandchildren Aiden, Aubree, Jasper, Natalie, Silas, Jamie, Mary, Katie, Grace, Lisa, Christian, Michael and Zayden. Richard had several nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins whom he cherished. No one had as much love in his heart as he did. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and three brothers.

If you knew Richard you knew he was an original man, he could make you laugh until you had tears down your face. He was the strongest, most loyal, generous and the most opinionated man you’ve ever met. It was Richard’s law. He would be the first to help and the last to leave. He put up with so much pain and hardly ever complained. If you’d ask him if

he was alright, he’d always say I’m good, he never wanted anyone to worry about him. He absolutely loved to sing and run around with his friends, especially Pat McKelvey who would pick him up every morning for coffee and a sausage biscuit sandwich from McDonalds. He was always the life of the party even in all his pain he had a smile on his face and would make you laugh. He will be missed dearly by everyone who loved and truly new him.

A memorial service will be held for Richard on Saturday December 13, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Palmers Funeral Home ~ Bubb Chapel, 3910 North Main Street, Mishawaka, with a visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. Online condolences can be made at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com
