Richard D. Young, 65 years old, passed away Monday, January 11, 2021 at his residence in South Bend. He was born April 27, 1955 in South Bend to the late Wilber Richard and Betty Jean (Miller) Young.
Richard was a lifelong resident of Michiana, working as a High-Rise Window Cleaner, and owner of Clean America Building Services. He was also a trainer/instructor at St James Boxing Club. He loved going on long motorcycle rides, playing poker with his friends, going shooting, playing softball, and had a large collection of pocket knives, watches, hats, and was an avid pet lover. He was a 4th degree black belt and taught karate for 18 years. Above all else, Richard loved his family. He was able to spend his holidays surrounded by his family for many beautiful moments. He cherished spending every moment with his daughter and two grandsons.
Richard is survived by his daughter, Eva Marie (Keith Ray) Young-Ray of South Bend; grandsons, Levi Hayden Ray and Liam Hunter Ray; past wife, Eva Dean (Larry Young) Jones-Young of Plymouth; sister, Diana Barnard of South Bend; nephew and children, Ricky Long, Hailey Long, Ariel Long, and Jacob Long; niece and children, Renee Barnard, Jayda Binion, Amiah Binion, and Kylee Binion; sister-in-law, Delores Neubauer and Jones family of South Bend; and niece, Nicole Scautt. Along with his parents, Richard is preceded in death by his sister, Robin Fuentes.
The family will hold a private service for Richard at Palmer Funeral Homes-Bubb Chapel. Interment will take place at Highland Cemetery, South Bend.
