Robert Lee Baskin Jr., 58, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, in Memorial Hospital. Born on August 21, 1967, in South Bend, Robert was the son of Robert Lee Baskin Sr. and, the late, Sandra Laverne Wright.
Robert was a service manager in the Monroe Muffler industry and was known by many for his strong work ethic, welcoming spirit, and genuine kindness toward others. He had a deep love for cars and enjoyed spending time around them whenever he could. Those who knew Robert will remember his beautiful smile, inspirational personality, and the kind words he always had for others. He loved to laugh and had a special gift for making those around him smile. Robert carried himself with dignity and earned the respect of many throughout his life.
He was a loving father to his sons, Hershell Baskin, Quentin (Ericka) Baskin, De’Twan Warren, and his daughter Albany Baskin. He was also blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom he loved dearly.
Robert is survived by his sister, Angela Forever (Sideya) Wright; step-sisters, Debra Baskin, and Dedra Baskin; and his brother, Rodrick Mason. He also leaves behind his aunt, Patricia White; uncle, Dennis Wright; and a host of cousins, extended family members, and friends who will cherish his memory.
Robert will be remembered as a loving man, a great big brother, and someone who brought warmth and laughter wherever he went. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Cremation arrangements are being handled by Palmer Southlawn Cremation Services. There will be no Funeral Services at this time. Palmer Funeral Home – West Chapel 2702 Lincolnway West, South Bend, IN 46628 is assisting the family with arrangements.
