Robert F. Smith, age 53, of Mishawaka, passed away unexpectedly on February 18, 2026. Born on August 14, 1972, Robert was a talented craftsman with a clever wit and a creative spirit.

A handyman by trade, Robert had a natural gift for working with wood. He was happiest when he was building or fixing things, finding peace in the sawdust and in the tangible results of his labor. He possessed a spirited personality and was always quick with a joke, bringing a unique energy to those around him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Greg F. Smith and Shirley J. Smith, and two siblings, Randy Smith and Cheryl Smith. He is survived by his eight siblings: Barbara Reese, Greg Smith, Angela Smith, Theresa Malcom, Irvin Smith, Alicia Smith, Maria Smith, and Sylvia Smith, who will cherish the memories of his humor and his skilled hands.
