Robert Tracy Reidenbach

Robert “Bob” Tracy Reidenbach, age 80, of South Bend, IN, passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, in South Bend. He was born on April 18, 1946, in Mishawaka, IN, and lived a life marked by kindness, humor, and devotion to the people and interests he loved. Bob was the son of the late Ferdinand and Luella (Ray) Reidenbach.

Bob was employed as a route driver for various businesses over the years, and he took pride in doing his work well. Bob was dependable and steady, and he built lasting connections through his employment and daily interactions. Those who knew him appreciated his easygoing nature and the way he could make others laugh with his funny personality. Bob also served his country honorably in the United States Army.

Bob had a lifelong appreciation for cars and the community that surrounded them. He was a member of the Studebaker Drivers Club and the Hagerty Drivers Club, and he was also an active member of the Michiana Corvette Club. These associations brought him enjoyment and friendship, and he valued the time he spent sharing his interest with others who understood his enthusiasm.

Family was an important part of Bob’s life. He is survived by his two daughters, Shannon (Gus) Alford and Donielle (Adam) Johnson, both of South Bend, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Shauna Collins, who died in 2019. Bob also leaves behind a loving family of grandchildren, including Aaron Reidenbach, Ryan (Britnee) Reidenbach, Kayle Boyd, Kali Boyd, Kenan (Brenda) Boyd, Brooklyn Johnson, Tristin (Keyma) Malling, and Jaymason Johnson. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Rob Reidenbach, who died in 2025. In addition, 16 great-grandchildren survive and carry forward his legacy.

Bob was funny, friendly, and approachable, and he had a way of making people feel comfortable in his presence. His sense of humor and genuine personality left a lasting impression on family, friends, and acquaintances alike. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A celebration of Bob’s life will be planned at a future date. Palmer Funeral Home—River Park Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
