MISHAWAKA – Robert Alan Rusk, 66, residing in Mishawaka, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at his home.
Robert was born on November 25, 1948 in South Bend, Indiana to the late Clyde Rusk and Betty (Hollis) Rusk. A music performance major at Indiana University, he played tuba in the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra for 25 years and also with numerous other ensembles. Bob taught tuba at the University of Wisconsin and Northwestern University and designed instruments for many musicians around the country. He was proud of his Puritan ancestry and its influence on his life.
He is survived by his sister, Carolyn Rusk (Dan Denov) of Lawrence, Michigan, nieces Anna and Rebecca Rusk, and cousin Dave (Pam) Walker of Elkhart, IN.
Graveside services, celebrating the life of Robert Alan Rusk, will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at the St. Joseph Valley Memorial Gardens in Granger, Indiana. Everyone is invited to attend and share in this time of remembrance. Palmer Funeral Home – River Park Chapel and Southlawn Cremation Services are assisting the family with arrangements.
