Obituary

Robert James Ruth, 79, of Mishawaka, Indiana, passed away at 8:18 p.m. Saturday, September 16, 2023, in his residence with his loving family by his side. Bob was born on March 8, 1944, in Youngstown, Ohio to Robert and Mildred (Carnahand) Ruth.

On November 3, 1979, in Mishawaka Bob married Fran A. Ickes.

Fran survives along with their children; Dave DeMaegd and Denise DeMaegd five grandchildren; Ally, Darin, Deanna, Olivia Grace and Aidan, one great granddaughter, Clover Grace, his brother, Grant Ruth. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Dana Ruth in 2006, a sister, Sue Brannan and a brother, Mike Ruth.

Bob retired from Pirod Company as a production supervisor. Bob graduated from Clay High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Vietnam being honorably discharged on July 5, 1967. He enjoyed bowling with his brothers and nephews, bird watching with his grandchildren, Notre Dame Football, the Chicago Bears, camping and he loved his Silverado Chevy truck.

Funeral services for Robert will be on Wednesday, September 20 at 1:00 p.m. at the Palmer Funeral Home – Bubb Chapel, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. until service time. Pastor Larry Chrisman will officiate the service.  VFW Post #360 will conduct military honors.
