Robert "Bob" W. Allen

Robert “Bob” Allen, 57, passed away Friday, January 3, 2020 at his residence.  Bob was born May 26, 1962 in Biloxi, Mississippi to Jerry Rendall and Janet (Shields) Grimm.  He grew up in Peoria, IL and graduated in 1980 from Metamora High School in Metamora, IL.Later in life he went on to earn certificates for diesel vehicle maintenance repair as well as certified caregiver.

After graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and enjoyed traveling the world before settling down in South Bend to work as a diesel mechanic.   On August 31, 1991 he married Teresa K. Davis. 

Surviving with his wife are their children, Susan J. (Glen) Wesaw of South Bend, Stevie R. Allen of Elkhart, and Carson W. Allen of Goshen, six grandchildren, mother Jan (Roger) Grimm of Nappanee, IN and two siblings, Ron Rendall of Syracuse, Indiana, and Maureen (Kevin Balsley) Rendall of Nappanee, Indiana, and special friend Jim Orzech whom he cared for.  Preceding him in death was his birth father, Jerry Rendall and his adopted father William Allen.

A memorial service celebrating Bob’s life will take place at a later date.  Palmer Funeral Home – Guisinger Chapel, 3718 South Michigan Street, South Bend, Indiana 46614, is assisting the family with arrangements.
