Robert "Bob" Lee Gregory, 89, passed away at 7:37 pm on Saturday, February 14, 2026, in Caring Junction. Born on October 22, 1936, in South Bend.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Eldridge and Carrie (Griffee) Gregory, and his brother, Gene Gregory. He is survived by his loving family, including his nephew, Michael (Stephanie) Gregory; his niece, Michelle (Jerry) Streb; and his great-nieces and nephews, Hannah Gregory, Jacob Gregory, Steffany (Alex) McDonald, Ashley Streb, and Shane Streb. Bob’s family was important to him, and he enjoyed his role as an uncle and great-uncle, sharing his wisdom with each new generation.
An accomplished individual, Bob earned his PhD and contributed his expertise as a Civil Engineer in the aerospace department for Bendix/Honeywell. His work was not just a job but a passion, as he played a part in the advancements that shaped modern aerospace technology. Bob also honorably served in the United States Army, a testament to his patriotism and sense of duty.
Bob's interests and hobbies painted the picture of a man deeply connected to the simple joys of life. He found solace and pleasure in gardening and doing yard work, nurturing the earth and taking pride in the beauty of nature's bounty. His love for animals was profound; he was known to feed every stray dog and cat that crossed his path, extending his kindness to all creatures great and small.
A man of intellect, Bob enjoyed engaging with the world through numbers. He followed the stock market very closely, always keen to discuss the latest trends and economic forecasts. This love of numbers was more than just a hobby; it was a way for him to stay connected to the ever-changing world around him.
A graveside service to honor and celebrate Bob's life will be held at 11:00am on Monday, February 23, 2026, at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, 375 W. Cleveland Road, Granger, IN. Palmer Funeral Home - River Park Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
