Robert "Bob" Kletka,Jr. Obituary

Robert Ivan Kletka, Jr., aged 79, passed away peacefully at 5:53 pm on Thursday, February 12, 2026, in the serene surroundings of Bell Tower. Born on February 11, 1947, Robert was a man whose life was characterized by his unwavering integrity, love for the outdoors, and dedication to his family.

Robert was the cherished son of the late Robert and Charlotte (Wear) Kletka, Sr. His early years were filled with the warmth of his parents' love and guidance, which shaped the man he would become. After completing his education at IU Bloomington, Robert honorably served his country in the United States Army, a period of his life that instilled in him a profound sense of duty and patriotism.

Upon returning to civilian life, Robert found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He had an innate love for nature, which was evident in his passion for gardening and bird watching. His hands were often found in the soil of his garden or with binoculars in hand, admiring the beauty of the winged creatures that visited his yard. These moments outdoors brought him immense peace and contentment.

Robert's legacy is carried on by his loving wife, Deborah (Thornburg) Kletka, who stood by his side in life's journey, sharing in his dreams and aspirations. He was a stepfather who provided guidance and support to Jamil and Allia Alkattan, watching with pride as they carved out their own paths in life. His role as a grandfather to Jamila Alkattan and Leyla, Jude, and Lena Haab was one he cherished deeply. His eyes would light up with joy at their accomplishments and laughter, and he imparted wisdom to them in his gentle, unassuming way.

While Robert's presence will be profoundly missed, his spirit remains alive in the hearts of those who knew him. His influence extended beyond his immediate family, touching the lives of friends and community members with his kindness and quiet strength.
