Robert Allison Voss, known to many as Bob, passed away on June 17, 2026, in Mishawaka, Indiana, at the age of 71.
Bob was born on February 9, 1955, in South Bend, Indiana, to Lewis Kenneth Voss and Flora Kathleen (Beery) Voss. He grew up with a strong spirit, a determined nature, and a personality that left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He lived life with energy and conviction, and he carried himself with the kind of confidence that came from experience, resilience, and a heart that was larger than life.
Bob was a man of many talents and spent his working years as a self-employed maintenance professional and as a property manager at a small apartment complex. He took pride in being able to fix what was broken, improve what needed attention, and keep things running smoothly. His work reflected his practical skills, his strong work ethic, and his willingness to do whatever needed to be done. He was the kind of man who could figure things out, and he earned respect through hard work, honesty, and persistence.
Those who knew Bob best will remember him as the life of the party, a man with a big heart who lived hard and never backed down. He loved riding motorcycles, working outside, and spending time doing the things that made him feel most alive. He also enjoyed drawing and writing, which gave him another way to express the depth of his thoughts and the creativity that was part of who he was. Bob lived with a fearless spirit and a straightforward way of seeing the world. Two sayings that reflected his outlook on life were, “It’s better to live in pain than in fear,” and “Live for the moment never regret a minute.” Those words captured the way he chose to face life, with courage, honesty, and no apologies.
Family was an important part of Bob’s life. He is survived by his daughter, Shannon (Stephen) Malicki, and his son, Robert Voss. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Michael, Larry, Samantha, Lily, Kinsey, and Kailey, along with many great-grandchildren who brought joy and pride to his life. He is also survived by his brothers, Darryl (Renee) Voss and Rick (Sandy) Voss. He was preceded in death by his father, Lewis Kenneth Voss; his mother, Flora Kathleen (Beery) Voss; his sister, Beth Ann; and his brothers, Lewis Kenneth Voss Jr. and Rhett Voss. He also shared part of his life with his ex-wife, Tami (Stoner) Voss. His beloved dog, Cash, was also a cherished companion.
