Roberta “Bobbie” Thompson  (Sister of Juel Kruse)

 76, of Granger, Indiana passed away on June 1, 2022.  Roberta was born July 28, 1945, in Wareham, MA to William A. and Phyllis (Stryker) Thompson.

Bobbie earned her B.A from Ripon College with a triple major in History, German, and Drama. She completed her master’s degree from Bridgewater State University in History. She taught high school and a few semesters at Cape Cod Community College and was an Assistant Manager for the BMV. She also worked as a volunteer for the Notre Dame Women’s Basketball Team and volunteer at Saint Michaels Episcopal Church. She was also a lifetime member and supporter of the NRA. Bobbie was an avid reader, a lover of shelter dogs and all other animals, and she had an interest in early American antiques. She was a strong supporter of her beloved Boston Bruins, Boston Red Sox, and New England Patriots. Bobbie loved traveling to Hawaii, Cape Cod, MA, The Bahamas, Hilton Head Island, SC, with family and her trips overseas and one with her niece Gillian.

Bobbie is survived by her twin sister Juel (Fred) Kruse of Granger, IN and her sister-in-law Gail Chaffee of Norwell, MA. She is also survived by niece Melissa (Greg) Crawford, her niece Gillian (James) Snyder, nephew Rick Kruse, great nephew Austin (Makayla) Kruse, great nephew Colton Kruse, great niece Grace Kruse, great nephew Andrew Crawford, and great niece Paige Crawford. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, aunt, her parents, and her brother, William A. Thompson Jr.

Memorial Services for Bobbie will be held at 6:00 p.m. Friday, June 17, 2022, at Palmer Funeral Homes – Welsheimer North Chapel 17033 Cleveland Rd. South Bend, IN. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service.

In Lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Humane Society of St. Joseph County 2506 Grape Rd. Mishawaka, IN 4654 and/or World Wildlife Foundation.
