Rodney F. Fredenburg, 91, of South Bend passed away on Tuesday January 13, 2026, at his home.
Rodney was born on August 25, 1934, in Michigan City, IN to the late Gaylord and Olga (Kalk) Fredenburg,
Rodney graduated from High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army. He then attended the South Bend College of Commerce and went on to work for Grabell Truck Lines for 24 years, retiring in 1999. He was a proud member of the Teamsters.
On August 25, 1956, in New Buffalo, Michigan he married Mary Nekvasil, sharing 69 years of marriage.
Rodney is survived by his loving wife, Mary, his daughter, Shelley Quartiero, son, Gregory (Marlena) Fredenburg, 3 grandchildren; Kyle(Kir), Kodey, and Katrina, and his brother, Randall (Sue) Fredenburg.
Rodney was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings.
Visitation for Rodney will be held from 10am-11am on Tuesday January 20, 2026, at Evangel Heights United Methodist Church, 114 N. Ironwood Dr. South Bend. A funeral service will begin at 11am and burial will follow with military honors at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Evangel Heights UMC, 114 N. Ironwood Dr. South Bend, IN 46615 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
