Rodolfo Reyes, a cherished soul known for his impeccable sense of humor and love for life, passed away peacefully at 3:46 am on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, in Memorial Hospital. Born on April 4, 1946, in Mezquitic, Jalisco, Mexico, Rodolfo's journey was one marked by joy, dedication, and the love of his family.
Rodolfo's early years in Mezquitic laid the foundation for a life filled with hard work and the simple pleasures of farming. His hands, always soiled from the earth of his beloved garden, were a testament to his dedication to keeping it free of weeds and bountiful. He took great pride in his work, ensuring every measurement was precise for whatever project he undertook. His love for crossword puzzles and dominoes was only matched by his passion for music, which he enjoyed in all its forms. He was also a Beisbol fanatic.
A man of routine and discipline, Rodolfo was up every day at 4 am, ready to embrace the day with a shower and shave, even if his day did not start until 8 am. His punctuality was legendary, always eager to be early, a trait that spoke volumes about his character. Rodolfo's sense of style was impeccable; he was always sharply dressed, with clothes crisply ironed and spotless. His sweet and affectionate nature was a comfort to all who knew him, and his jokes brought laughter to even the most mundane moments.
Rodolfo's Catholic faith was a cornerstone of his life, guiding him through good times and bad. He was a loving husband to his wife, Marta (Miramontes) Reyes, and a guiding light to his children, Lorenza, Maria Guadalupe, Elidia, Martha, and Elisa. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Laura, Vanessa, Janet, Ramiro, Andres, Ernesto, Victor, Jose, Yesenia, Miguel, Juan, Martha, Karen, Paola, Jose, Reyna, Maite-Carlos, Rodolfo, Fernando, Jesus, Jorge, Jessie, Cindy, Rene, and Maite, as well as his great-grandchildren, Sixto, Kaily, Marisol, Axel, Adrian, Alexander, Anthony, Aleyna, Rayan, Santiago, Emma, Aurora, Damian, and Rosie. Rodolfo's brother, Venancio, also survives him, carrying forward the memories of their shared childhood.
Rodolfo was preceded in death by his parents, Lorenzo Lopez and Julia Reyes, his sons, Ramiro and Rodolfo Lopez, and his siblings, Narciso, Francisca, and Herminio. His memory will be cherished and kept alive by the stories and laughter he shared with all who knew him.
