Roland Lymangrover Obituary

Roland Carl “Pete” Lymangrover, 86, of Lakeville passed away peacefully at home on Sunday June 7, 2026. Pete was born on July 4, 1939, in South Bend to the late Roland Paul Lymangrover and Daisy Eleanor (Mitchell) Lymangrover-Cripe.

Pete met the love of his life, Bonnie Lorraine Kauffman, when she was 14 and he was 16. They married on November 17, 1957, and celebrated 68 years of marriage this past year.  He was a passionate outdoors man and a hard-working family man, retiring from AM General after 29 years.

“Quick and agile” well into his later years, Pete enjoyed hunting, camping, hiking through the woods and wildlife photography. He especially loved spending time with his grand kids and great grand kids, doting on the babies. Everyone who met him knew him as a friend. He faced life with great sense of humor and a touch of orneriness. His practical wisdom helped any problems they faced feel more like a new adventure.

Together, Pete and Bonnie had 4 wonderful children; Carla Sue Lymangrover, Cindy Lorraine Lymangrover, Ronda Ann (Brian) Klaer, and Michael James Lymangrover.

In addition to his wife and children, Pete is survived by his sister, Linda Mae Wheeler, of Goshen. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren Lindy Starr, Jason Michael, Jeremy John, Misty Dawn, Amber Marie, Katie Anne, Stacey Lorraine, Kristi Lee, Nicole Ann “Colby”, Tiffani Kay, Nicklaus Brian “Nick” and 26 great grandchildren.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Scott Lymangrover of Mishawaka and Larry Lymangrover of North Liberty.

A celebration of life is scheduled for Sunday July 12, 2026 from 1pm-5pm at the Moose Lodge, 1500 CR 6 Elkhart.  Casual Attire and a catered meal will be provided.  PLEASE RSVP BY JULY 5 to Nicole by texting 574-612-5943 or emailing nshedrow1@gmail.com
