Ronald "Ron" Wayne Wiley

Ronald "Ron" W. Wiley, aged 69, a cherished family man, a respected veteran, and a dedicated worker, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2025, in Mishawaka, IN. Born on July 9, 1956, in South Bend, IN, to the late Robert and Carrie Bernice (Coleman) Wiley, Ron was a pillar of strength and joy for all who knew him.

Ron's early life was anchored in Mishawaka, where he graduated from Penn High School in 1974. After high school, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army before establishing a long and rewarding career at Thor Motorcoach, where he worked in the cabinet shop for over 20 years until his retirement. Ron's dedication to his work was matched only by the passion he had for his family and community.

In 1987, Ron married the love of his life, Rhonda (Smith) Wiley, in Mishawaka, IN, where they built a life filled with love and laughter until her passing in 2018. Ron is also preceded in death by his stepdaughter, Melissa Shields. He will be fondly remembered and sorely missed by his grandchildren, Paige Leonard, Justin Shields, and Kevin Shields, who were the delight of his life, as well as his adored great-grandchildren, Jason, Jordan, Honor, De'Zyah, Ca'Layla, Ca'Niyah, Ca'Lasia, Kevin, and Kylianna.

Ron is survived by his loving siblings, Karen (Robert) Bennett and Bart (Michelle) Wiley. His influence extends through his caring nephews, Shawn Bennett and Kody (Molly) Wiley, and nurturing nieces, Jessica Bennett, Carrie Bennett and Krystyna (Richard) Reynolds, who will carry on his legacy of kindness and integrity.

Aside from his family, one of Ron's greatest joys was playing in the Mishawaka pool league. His prowess with a cue stick was matched by his competitive spirit and the camaraderie he shared with fellow players. The pool halls of Mishawaka hold memories filled with Ron's unwavering sportsmanship and the enduring friendships he forged over the years.

A time to visit with the family will be Wednesday, December 3rd, 2025, from 4-8 p.m. A service will be held on Thursday, December 4th, 2025, at 11 a.m. with one hour of visitation prior all being held at Palmer Funeral Home – Bubb Chapel, 3910 N. Main St. Mishawaka, IN 46545. Procession will immediately follow the service to Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
